Woodward Fine Cannabis is cultivated by Fire Rock out of Akron, Ohio. Design for Woodward Fine Cannabis hasn’t changed much over the past year, and that’s not a bad thing. After all, there’s really no point in changing what is already functional and appealing. The clear plastic bottle is recyclable, and patients can easily see the cannabis they are buying. The design itself features a vintage appeal, with a stylish logo and easy to read product details.

Cannabis Look: Out of the Bottle

The bottle I purchased of Woodward’s Sunset Sherbert (spelled Sherbert, not Sherbet) mostly consisted of popcorn nugs, or minis. The largest bud in my bottle was about the size of a quarter. There were no stems or excess discardable plant material. In most cases, cultivators opt to break large buds down to smaller pieces. This ensures that patients are not paying for thick stems.

The buds themselves are striking, with inky purples gently surrounding military greens and amber (almost red) hairs, or pistils. Trichomes bathe the nugs, coating the purple leaves like a fresh morning frost.

I do wish I had gotten just one larger cola, if only because the purple on these buds is a sight to behold. I would have loved to photograph a larger cola to show off this strain’s dazzling color.

How Does It Grind?

Bud colas in my bottle of Sunset Sherbert were small, but modestly dense. I took about six nugs and got roughly 4 bowls out of it.

This strain leans tacky, but not enough that grinding it proved overly difficult or complicated. But patients with pain in their hands or fingers should expect to turn this one more than a dozen times to achieve a good grind. If this proves too taxing, be sure to ask a caretaker for help.

The buds themselves grind down to a wonderful consistency for vaping. This cannabis is well cured, with a nice amount of moisture once ground down.

Smell Before Vaping

Sunset Sherbert is loaded with terpenes, so it is not surprising that the aroma of this strain is like a fresh bouquet of flowers, where each flower has its own unique stamp or signature that adds to the overall palette.

As I turned each nug around in my fingers, I could detect different fragrances bursting from the trichomes, ranging from floral accents to sugary notes, with a salty undercurrent that reminded me of an ocean beach. I also detected just a faint hint of cheese as well, but not enough that it distracted from the floral palette.

Admittedly, I did find the palette to be a bit more subtle than I would have liked. Though the aroma is fantastic, it is not very strong, and won’t fill a room as easily as some other strains. In this case, I do wish the aroma were just a bit stronger because I rather enjoyed indulging in each separate scent.

The Taste Test

I vaped this medical cannabis with an Arizer ExtremeQ vaporizer. I like to start my first bag at a lower temperature to open the terpenes, and work up to a higher temp to vaporize the cannabinoids.

The wide-ranging aroma of Sunset Sherbert is translated perfectly to flavor, as this strain vapes extraordinarily well. There’s a peppery through-thread accented by a sweet, almost hoppy flavor that reminded me of a banana peel. This is complemented by a sweet, sugary aftertaste, almost like a citrus hard candy melting in your mouth. Expect a bit of a diesel-like bite with this one about mid-vape, though it’s not enough that I was coughing up a lung. That said, expect a few mild coughs if you are sensitive.

With my very first toke, I was shocked by how much flavor was packed into just one hit. This tasty strain continues to deliver from the first hit to the final pull. Frankly, this is possibly one of Woodward’s best tasting strains, and that is saying something. Woodward has long prided themselves on unique, potent, flavorful strains, but Sunset Sherbert may just be their crowning achievement.

Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted

Note: The medicinal benefits noted in this strain profile are for educational purposes only, and are not a substitute for the advice of a medical practitioner or licensed budtender.

Sunset Sherbert by Woodward Fine Cannabis is an indica strain, a cross of Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties. The bottle I purchased contained cannabis with 28% THC and 0.01% CBD.

My medical marijuana patient consultant recommended Sunset Sherbert for inflammation, relaxation, gastrointestinal issues and help with sleep.

I was experiencing quite a bit of pain from a stress-related illness, so I was hoping to medicate with a powerful indica to help me relax before bed. Sunset Sherbert did exactly that. I felt a strong wave of euphoria to start, which gently eased tension and helped clear my head of worry.

By the end of my vaping experience, I was in a state of calm, ready to unwind and meditate before bed. I vaped this strain and followed up with Butterfly Effect’s High THC Tincture about 30 minutes before bed. That proved to be a knockout punch that helped me fall to sleep, and stay asleep all night.

Though not as full engaging to the senses for me as Beach Wedding, I can’t really complain. This strain helped me calm down, and it aided in soothing pain relief.

Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests. This means that some strains profiled at 420oh.io will contain higher, exact or lower percentages of active chemical compounds when purchased at Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries during different harvest seasons.

Sour Banana Sherbet is a stunning cannabis strain, with a classic “hippie bud” look to it, with more defined leaves, less density and brilliant colors.

Colors here are quite spectacular. Up close, the nugs feature a beautiful array of purple accents. In fact, if you look at the grind photo below, you’ll see splashes of purple everywhere you look.
