The Heat Is On!

Packaging: First Impressions

Miami Heat is cultivated by Firelands Scientific out of Huron, Ohio. We’ve talked about their container in our review of Cali Dragon. The logo and design are fantastic. I particularly dig the golden seal. But alas, the container isn’t my favorite. The bulky white container is certainly sturdy, but I really wish patients could see the cannabis they were buying. According to Firelands Scientific, we should see a change in this department soon.

Cannabis Look: Out of the Bottle

Out of the bottle, this is a great looking strain, with an almost candy-coated layer of trichomes that make this bud look frozen or frosted. Up close, pistils even appear crystallized under the light. Greens and other colors are somewhat subdued by this frosty layer.

The buds themselves are a little brittle, but quite dense, and very sticky to the touch. This makes grinding a tad tough, but not so bad that those with pain in their hands or fingers would need to ask a caretaker for assistance.

Smell Before Vaping

The aroma of Miami Heat is quite strong, with a powerful lemon zest that’ll hit the nostrils as soon as you open the bottle. This is followed by a sweet current, almost like grapes, with a spicy, almost minty finish. Once ground, the aroma opens up even further, dominated by the lemony zest, likely from the limonene terpene. I really dug the way this one smelled. Strong. Potent. Zesty!

The Taste Test

I vaped this medical cannabis with an Arizer ExtremeQ vaporizer. I like to start my first bag at a lower temperature to open the terpenes, and work up to a higher temp to vaporize the cannabinoids.

The lemony aroma translates rather well to flavor, providing a smooth, delicious vape that tastes almost like a lemon tea. There’s also a mild spicy finish that again reminds me of mint.

The flavor is not as strong as the scent itself, which is not a bad thing. While lemon zest can be a delightful odor, it can sometimes be a bitter flavor. But Miami Heat boasts a much smoother, almost soothing lemon-citrus flavor, with a very mild, sweet bite to it. Pair this one with an orange juice, a fresh-squeezed lemonade or a sweet herbal tea to really maximize that flavor.

Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted

Note: The medicinal benefits noted in this strain profile are for educational purposes only, and are not a substitute for the advice of a medical practitioner or licensed budtender.

Miami Heat by Firelands Scientific is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain. The bottle I purchased contained cannabis with 24.70% THC and 0.00% CBD.

This sativa was recommended for its strong creative energy, potent euphoria, increased focus and pain reduction benefits.

The first wave from this strain hit me about ten minutes after finishing my first vape bag. From there, I fell into a state of creativity and energy. I wanted to dance and exercise, and work on projects around the house.

Pain and anxiety calmed, and I was able to focus on getting my daily chores done.

This sativa is potent, so be warned, you will experience a strong headband effect, and an ample amount of euphoria. The effects last a pretty decent amount of time, but never overpowered me, or gave me jitters.

Miami Heat is not a great strain to medicate with before bed, as it will keep your mind racing. As an early morning strain, though, this one should get you moving, and excited to face the day.

Overall, Miami Heat is a stunning strain, with a potent lemony aroma and a smooth taste. This sativa also packs a serious punch, with a dazzling euphoria, and loads of creative energy, enough to melt away anxiety and tension. If you’re in the market for a striking sativa strain, look no further.
