High THC Cannabis-Infused Olive Oil was created by the team at Wellspring Fields in Ravenna, Ohio. The oil is packaged in a gorgeous blue glass bottle, with an easy open top. The bottle itself is contained in a pouch. There’s also a plastic measuring cup included, which allows for many different measurements, up to two tablespoons or 30 ml.
My only real gripe here is the label on the bottle, which was quite faded — likely because the printer that printed the label was running out of ink. It was…fine, but a label like this doesn’t inspire much confidence.
A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE MEDICATING:
Be sure to shake well before use. Also, this product contains activated cannabis oil extracted using butane and propane processing. This means that you SHOULD NOT cook with this oil, or bake with it. Doing so could result in neutralized THC, burnt oil, or just a less potent product. Also, this probably goes without saying, but do not attempt to vape this oil.
It is recommended that patients use this olive oil as a topping on food, or as a dip with bread, or even mixed into pre-cooked foods. For example, the first time I medicated, I poured the oil over some taco meat and rice. For health conscious patients, you could also use this oil to make a variety of salad dressings.
Like Wellspring’s Peanut Butter, it is also worth noting that patients with a low tolerance should exhibit caution when using this product. One tablespoon has roughly 35 mg of THC. For the uninitiated, this could be a very strong amount of cannabis, and could result in negative side effects. Be sure to take it slow with this product and start with a lower dosage than one tablespoon.
The Taste Test
If you’ve had olive oil, you know what you’re getting here. There’s next to no green cannabis flavor that I could detect, which was a welcome surprise. Rather, what you get here is rich, tasty olive oil — perfect for dipping.
I do wish I knew the source of this olive oil, though. Hopefully, Wellspring Fields will consider putting the source of the oil on the label in the future.

Cannabis Infused Olive Oil from Wellspring Fields contains roughly 16 tablespoons. My bottle boasted 565.23 mg of THC and over 147 mg of CBD. This means that one tablespoon (or 15 ml) contains about 35 mg of THC and 9 mg of CBD. Please refer to the notes above for proper dosing and edible uses for this olive oil.
This oil was recommended by my budtender for its versatile dosing, euphoric intensity and sedative effects.
And let me tell you … this oil kicked my ass! I took one tablespoon with dinner and found myself in an intense state of euphoria within about an hour. This lasted for several hours, but slowly transformed into a relaxing state of couch-lock. I was nearly comatose by the time I went to sleep, inflammation and pain a distant memory. This resulted in a wonderful night of rest, followed by a refreshing, restorative feeling in the morning.
If you’re seeking an alternative to sugar-based edibles on the Ohio cannabis market, this is a knockout option … that is, if you like olive oil. If you don’t, I’d recommend a tincture from Butterfly Effect.
Final Thoughts on Olive Oil
Wellspring Fields has yet another great cannabis edible on their hands. This high THC infused olive oil is both versatile and flavorful. Medicinally, it provides some serious relaxation and pain relief. Expect to get some really good sleep with one.
Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests.
