Packaging & First Impressions

This High THC Cannabis-Infused Peanut Butter was created by the folks at Wellspring Fields in Ravenna, Ohio. The peanut butter is infused with cannabis oil extracted using butane and propane processing. The edible is packaged in the same containers that Wellspring has been using for their dry flower, like GMO

This isn’t a bad container for this product, though I did have to scrape some of the peanut butter off the lid. I’m also not a huge fan of how these bottles open. For the elderly, or those with pain in their hands or fingers, opening this one might be tough.

A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE MEDICATING:

This peanut butter has a rather thick consistency, much like organic peanut butter. While the bottle did not indicate what source was used for this peanut butter, it almost looks as if it were made in-house. As such, this peanut butter will require mixing before dosing. You’re going to want to take a spoon and thoroughly STIR the peanut butter until the oil is mixed in, and the consistency of the peanut butter becomes smoother and creamer.

It is important to stress that this product contains a high dose of over 48 mg of THC per tablespoon. For lightweights, this will be an overwhelming amount of cannabis, particularly if the peanut butter is not well mixed — you may end up with hot spots that contain higher doses than 48 mg. As such, be sure to mix well. Start small and figure out which dose works for you. That might be a 1/4 teaspoon. It might be a half tablespoon or more. Just take it slow and be careful with your dosing.

It’s also worth noting that the bottle actually suggests using the lid as a measuring device, but I wouldn’t recommend that. Use measuring spoons so you can get an exact dosage. It’s somewhat disappointing that the package didn’t include a measuring spoon, or instructions about mixing.

The Taste Test

Once mixed, this peanut butter has a somewhat gritty texture to it. This comes from the sugar crystals, which are visible to the naked eye. Outside of that, the peanut butter lacks a salty flavor that I tend to prefer from pb, but that’s just my personal preference.

The flavor here is somewhat comparable to a savory organic peanut butter, or even a homemade peanut butter. There’s waves of sugary goodness in every bite, with notes of honey adding a rich sweetness.

There’s also a very mild cannabis flavor, mostly a subtle green aftertaste. It doesn’t dominate the overall flavor, which was greatly appreciated.

Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted

The medicinal benefits noted below are for educational purposes only, and are not a substitute for the advice of a medical practitioner or licensed budtender.

This peanut butter from Wellspring Fields contains roughly 6.87 tablespoons. My bottle boasted 331 mg of THC and nearly 56 mg of CBD. This means that one tablespoon of this cannabis-infused peanut butter contains roughly 48 mg of THC and 8 mg of CBD. Please review the notes above for my suggestions regarding dosing. Lesser words: take it slow with this one! Start with a small dose and work your way up.

Though it’s probably obvious to most readers, it is worth noting that anyone with a peanut allergy should avoid this product.

Medicinally, I was quite pleased with how quickly this edible began to work. Even when I microdosed with a small 1/4 teaspoon, I could feel the relaxative effects on my muscles and joints within a few minutes. This was followed by a strong rush of head-heavy euphoria. As I increased the amount of peanut butter, these enjoyable euphoric effects also dramatically amplified.

Perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of this edible was just how soothing and relaxing the medicine felt. It gave me increased focus for the first hour or two, followed by a mellow vibe that helped me de-stress. Pain and inflammation were remarkably tempered, and gut trouble I had been struggling from subsided for several hours.

Between this peanut butter and Butterfly Effect’s Cannabis-infused Honey, patients seeking a stronger edible should be able to find something that works well for their needs.

Final Thoughts on High THC Peanut Butter

For patients seeking a higher THC edible, you can’t go wrong with this peanut butter from Wellspring Fields. It’s potent, quite tasty, and fairly easy to dose. I would exhibit some caution if you are more sensitive to THC, but for those seeking a smooth, intensely euphoric edible — give this peanut butter a try.

Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests. This means that some strains profiled at 420oh.io will contain higher, exact or lower percentages of active chemical compounds when purchased at Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries during different harvest seasons.

We take a look at a high percentage THC indica strain from Wellspring Fields, titled GMO. Folks may know this strain by its other name: Garlic Cookies or Garlic, Mushrooms and Onions.

The Buckeye State saw over $27 million in sales of Ohio Medical Marijuana over March and April, a $7 million increase over sales in January and February.

We vaped Poochie Love, an enticing head-heavy sativa strain cultivated by the folks at Buckeye Relief out of Eastlake, Ohio. Find out how this 14.15 gram bulk flower hits.

Is it ok to eat with a 1 slice of a kit kat bar or a couple crackers or a half a English muffin and will it take longer for the effect of relief take longer? And does the peanut butter have to be refrigerated? Have a great day and thank you for the edibles first time with peanut butter and it is a 👌!

You can have something small to eat with the peanut butter, but watch the carbs. They will slow or lessen the effect. So glad you dug the PB. It’s a favorite of mine!
