Ohio Medical Marijuana Strain Review:

Sherbhead by
Calyx Peak, Klutch

Can This Strain Get Into Your Head?

Review & Photos by: Randy Shaffer

Packaging: First Impressions

Sherbhead by Local Cannabis Company is a hybrid flower, a cross of Sherbet and Loompas Headband. The bud is cultivated by Calyx Peak, out of Akron, Ohio. My 2.83 gram glass bottle was exactly the same as my previous bottles, like Ice Cream Cake. The design is simple and elegant, with an easy-open bottle, and clear glass — so patients can see the cannabis they are buying.

Quick update: Calyx Peak is now Klutch Cannabis or Klutch Select. You may still see this strain under the original name, or under the name Klutch brand. We should have a review of an official Klutch bottle soon.

Cannabis Look: Out of the Bottle

My 2.83 gram bottle of Sherbhead contained one very large nug, as well as one mid-sized nug and an assortment of popcorn nugs.

Bud’s were a bit brittle to the touch, which may annoy some, or require a humidity pack. The nugs are quite dense, at least.

Up close, these buds are pretty over-trimmed, lacking a lot of surface characteristics as a result. What I could detect were subtle sparks of purple throughout each bud, as well as notes of highlighter green, with pockets of trichome clusters.

Smell Before Vaping

The aroma of Sherbhead is straight sherbet. There’s a dazzling bouquet of fruity, sweet lemony aromas that hit you as soon as you open the bottle. I found myself opening the bottle over and over again, just to get hit with that berry burst. This is followed by a more mellow aroma, like lemongrass or even nutmeg or sage — a great compliment to the stark sweetness of this one.

The Taste Test

I vaped this medical cannabis with an Arizer ExtremeQ vaporizer. I like to start my first bag at a lower temperature to open the terpenes, and work up to a higher temp to vaporize the cannabinoids.

Once vaped, Sherbhead offers up a robust, peppery flavor, with hints of lemon throughout and a fruity aftertaste, like a plum. This one starts off quite strong, too, hitting you with powerful waves of flavor, and a few coughs. But expect this one to grow more subtle as you continue vaping.

Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted

Note: The medicinal benefits noted in this strain profile are for educational purposes only, and are not a substitute for the advice of a medical practitioner or licensed budtender.

Sherbhead by Calyx Peak (aka Local Cannabis Company, Klutch Cannabis or Klutch Select) is a 50/50 hybrid strain. The bottle I purchased contained cannabis with 26.50% THC and 0.09% CBD.

This strain came highly recommended by an Ohio medical marijuana patient who watches our YouTube reviews. If you haven’t noticed already, I tend to prefer to only review good or recommended strains and products on this site. That way patients can spend their money wisely. So again, many thanks for helping out with these recommendations!

Sherbhead provides quite the medicinal experience, starting off strong with a joyful headband effect that wraps around the temples, applying a gentle, soothing pressure. This is followed by a profoundly relaxing body euphoria that had my feet and toes tingling.

While I found that this strain amped up my anxiety a tad, it also helped relax my body, which was a strange juxtaposition. That said, on a low anxiety day, this strain delivered a wonderful medical experience that eased pain, had me laughing, and warmed my body along the way.

Final Thoughts on Sherbhead

Sherbhead by Calyx Peak or Klutch is capable of generating quite a bit of joy and euphoria, but be careful if your anxiety is already high. That said, this is a tasty strain with a powerful, sweet aroma, a soothing headband effect, and a nice sense of body euphoria.

Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests. This means that some strains profiled at 420oh.io will contain higher, exact or lower percentages of active chemical compounds when purchased at Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries during different harvest seasons.

We take a look at a highly recommended strain — Do-Si-Dos #22 (Dosidos 22) by Buckeye Relief. This flower is a cross of Girl Scout Cookies and Face Off OG, and she tastes quite delightful! Find it how this flower hits.

Cincinnati.com is reporting that anxiety and autism, were once again tossed out as possible new medical conditions to be added to Ohio’s medical marijuana program, but one condition was recommended to the Ohio State Medical Board: cachexia, or wasting syndrome.

For health enthusiasts seeking an enticing alternative to sugar or nut-based cannabis edibles, Wellspring Fields might just have what you’ve been looking for because this infused high THC Olive Oil is straight fire.
