Ohio Medical Marijuana Strain Review:

Triangle Mintz
by Klutch

Triangle Kush and Animal Mintz Collide!

Review & Photos by: Randy Shaffer

Packaging: First Impressions

Triangle Mintz, a cross of Triangle Kush and Animal Mintz, is cultivated by Klutch Cannabis, formerly known as Calyx Peak, located out of Akron, Ohio. Calyx Peak recently transitioned into being Klutch Cannabis, which means a whole new design for their medical cannabis bottles.

While these new bottles are generally very similar in shape and feel, I rather like the new graphic design of Klutch’s bottle. The black labels are striking and elegant, with a more confident design aesthetic. There are also a ton of great details on the bottle’s label, including a breakdown of the terpene profile, which is great for patients looking for specific terpenes or terpene percentages.

Cannabis Look: Out of the Bottle

My 2.83 gram bottle of Triangle Mintz contained a few mid-sized nugs, as well as a small handful of popcorn minis. This one grinds a little light, so be warned. 3-4 nugs equals about 2-3 bowls.

Trimming on Sherbhead was a bit intense. Thankfully, that problem doesn’t present itself here with this flower. Buds are more lively and colorful, with more surface characteristics and features.

Most noticeable about this bud is just how coated with trichomes they all are. With only a few sparks of pine green, and the occasional burnt orange pistil, this bud is dominated by frosty trichomes, as well as a beautiful lavender hue.

Smell Before Vaping

The aroma of Triangle Mintz leans minty chocolate, with a fresh rush of fumes exploding from the bottle as soon as it’s opened. I was actually quite surprised by how strong the mint aroma was inside the bottle. It’s paired with subtle notes of chocolate, and just a slight sugary sweet accent. In fact, this flower reminded me of one of those chocolate mints, with a subtle minty zest vaguely reminiscent of wintergreen. Just a wonderful aroma!

The Taste Test

I vaped this medical cannabis with an Arizer ExtremeQ vaporizer. I like to start my first bag at a lower temperature to open the terpenes, and work up to a higher temp to vaporize the cannabinoids.

Once vaped, the aroma of Triangle Mintz is transformed into a fuller, more earthy palette. There’s subtle notes of pine and herbs, and a peppery sweet through-thread that vivdly reminded me of biting into a fresh mango. There’s also a refreshingly minty aftertaste that sticks with you for a quite a while after vaping. Pair this one with a mango juice to really open that flavor.

Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted

Note: The medicinal benefits noted in this strain profile are for educational purposes only, and are not a substitute for the advice of a medical practitioner or licensed budtender.

Triangle Mintz by Klutch is a sativa hybrid strain. The bottle I purchased contained cannabis with 27.40% THC and 0.10% CBD.

Medicinally, this strain came recommended by my Ohio medical marijuana budtender for its potent head-heavy euphoria, stress relief and anti-inflammatory properties.

This strain takes a little while to get going. In fact, I had vaped an entire bag of this strain before noticing effects. But once it hit, I was filled with a joyful sense of euphoria, coupled with a tremendous feeling of energy. Like a lot of energy. Seriously. This flower had me wanting to run, hike and exercise within about an hour of medicating.

Curiously, though, the more I vaped, the more couch-locked and tired I became, so be warned. Vaping too much of this one has the opposite sedating effect. That said, this strain is great for those seeking that level of variety. Vape a small amount and be filled with energy and pain relief, or vape a larger amount and veg out. Either way, this strain hits the spot.

Klutch comes through once again with this awesome sativa flower. Between the enticing minty aroma, the fresh mango-like flavor, and a great rush of euphoria once medicated, you really can’t go wrong with this strain. Check it out while it’s still on dispensary shelves!

Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests. This means that some strains profiled at 420oh.io will contain higher, exact or lower percentages of active chemical compounds when purchased at Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries during different harvest seasons.

We take a look at Sherbhead, an uplifting, popular hybrid from Calyx Peak. aka Local Cannabis Company. You may also know this flower under the brand, Klutch Cannabis (the new owners of Calyx Peak).

The folks at RYOT recently sent us some new cleaning, grinding and storage products, so we thought we’d take some time here to go in-depth with each one. Reviews include: the KANNASTöR GR8TR Grinder, the RYOT Utility Tool & the SmellSafe Safe Case.

A patient request this week! We check out Grandpa’s Mustache by Ancient Roots, a popular cannabis cultivator out of Wilmington, Ohio. So how does this 50/50 hybrid hit? Find out!
