Ohio Medical Marijuana Strain Review:

999

Take This One To Infinity & Beyond...

Review & Photos by: Randy Shaffer

Packaging: First Impressions

999 is an indica flower cultivated by Klutch Cannabis out of Akron, Ohio. Klutch, for those unaware, was formerly owned by Calyx Peak. But now Klutch in Ohio-owned!

If you’ve checked out our review of Triangle Mintz, you know what’s in store for this bottle. Design is elegant, with a black label and easy-to-read details on the back of the bottle, as well as an easy-open top.

Cannabis Look: Out of the Bottle

My 2.83 gram bottle of 999 contained several popcorn mini nugs, as well as one quarter-sized nug. Admittedly, I’m a little bummed when my bottle is all popcorn. I’d really like to see some larger nugs in these bottles.

Up close, this strain has a very sharp appearance, with pointy leaves that shift between bright green and deep purple. Pistils practically spray out from every corner, coating the dark leaves with sprinkles of orange.

Trichomes are thick, almost glued to one another in some spots, but a little sparse in others. This bud was fairly overtrimmed, which may disappoint some patients. Density was better than expected, with a decent yield.

Smell Before Vaping

The aroma of 999 is whimsically minty at first, with a subtle fruity core that lingers the longer the bottle is opened. There is also a hint of earthy spice, almost like mustard seed. The strain opens up a little once ground, providing some gassy fumes and more of that delightful fruity rind-like burst.

The Taste Test

I vaped this medical cannabis with an Arizer ExtremeQ vaporizer. I like to start my first bag at a lower temperature to open the terpenes, and work up to a higher temp to vaporize the cannabinoids.

Once vaped, those gassy fumes really come to life, exploding with waves of lemon, and also a very mild hint of chocolate. Though this strain doesn’t vape quite as fruity as I expected it, it does pack a nice earthy vibe, with strong pine notes opening up on the tongue after vaping. The lemony aftertaste is also quite delicious.

Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted

999 is an indica flower from Klutch Cannabis. This strain originated from Josh D, and is a cross of Tahoe OG Kush, Triangle Kush, and Biker Kush. The bottle I purchased contained cannabis with 21.80% THC and 0.00% CBD.

I’ve been wanting to try some of the new Klutch strain drops, and I’ve heard good things about 999. This strain came recommended for its head-heavy body euphoria and intense relaxative effects.

999 was a strong strain for me right off the bat. It packed a serious punch! Though the experience made mental functionality a little difficult, what it did for my brain and body was simply perfect — it calmed them right down, relaxed me, and provided enough stress relief to unwind before bed.

That said, I sometimes found the mental unwinding leaning a little too close to brain melting, which isn’t always what I’m looking for with my strains. Still, this one was just about perfect after an intense, stressful day.

Final Thoughts on 999

999 by Klutch Cannabis is a must-try for those looking to check their brain at the door, and just enjoy a night of relaxation, free of worry or stress. But be warned, this one will mess you up in ample doses, so take it slow. But for patients looking to sample a new indica with strong medicinal effects, this flower should be a knockout.

Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests. This means that some strains profiled at 420oh.io will contain higher, exact or lower percentages of active chemical compounds when purchased at Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries during different harvest seasons.

I was very displeased with Klutch and their customer service. They blocked me on Instagram just got posting my experience and trying to get someone to contact me with help. I purchased some of their motorbreath and it smelled like grass. It was harvested and packaged less than a month apart. So it tells you it was hardly cured. Anyone who’s ever cultivated marijuana knows that’s greatly affects the taste, smell, etc. I finally got some to respond back but in email but they refused to help me. They claimed they have a professional team who verify everything is up to their standard before it gets sold. But if that was true then why does this smell like grass and not like they claim motorbreath should smell? Then blocking your patient just for voicing their opinion is very unethical and unprofessional. I just want to give people my experience so maybe they don’t run intl same issue I did. This was my first time purchasing from Klutch.
