Packaging, Cart & AiroPro Battery: First Impressions
Close Encounter is an indica live resin cannabis concentrate. This cart has been specifically designed for AiroPro vaporizers, available in select dispensaries. AiroPro is made with cannabis cultivated at Buckeye Relief in Eastlake, Ohio.
The concentrate is packaged in a rather simplistic sealed pouch that almost resembles an ink cartridge pouch, right down to the colorful, splashy design. Inside, the cart is lodged into a small plastic holder. While the pouch is a little difficult to open, the holder makes it easy to pop out the cart.
Unfortunately, these carts are proprietary and must be used with an AiroPro vaporizer. While I’m not the biggest fan of proprietary vaping methods, as it can quickly become costly for the patient, I do really like the AiroPro. The vaporizer is easy to use. Simply drop the cart right into the slot and begin vaping. The battery has haptic feedback, so it vibrates as you vape, creating a sensation that’s uniquely similar to smoking, without the smoke.
The size, shape and weight of the AiroPro reminds me of a cigar, which I also really like. That said, the units run a little expensive, as do the carts, so if you already have a vape pen that you like to use, the AiroPro system might not be for you. However, of the vape pens I’ve tried, this one might just be my favorite. That haptic feedback — big seller!
The Taste Test
I’ve been getting quite a few requests from viewers in our YouTube community who wanted to see a review of an AiroPro strain. I picked up Close Encounter at the suggestion of my budtender. This strain features a wonderful bouquet of terpenes, including Myrcene, Alpha-Pinene, Limonene and Caryophyllene. This results in a flavorful live resin that tastes almost like tangy oranges, with a strong pine bite mid-vape, and a soft floral aftertaste.
Unfortunately, my lungs aren’t the biggest fan of any cannabis oil, so I did battle through quite a few coughs while vaping with this one, especially on longer pulls (7 seconds or longer). If you cough easy with vape oils or concentrates, this one may be a little tough on your lungs, so exhibit caution and take shorter pulls.
Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted
Note: The medicinal benefits noted in this strain profile are for educational purposes only, and are not a substitute for the advice of a medical practitioner or licensed budtender.
Close Encounter is an indica strain cultivated by Buckeye Relief, and packaged for the AiroPro system. See the details above for THC and CBD percentages, as well as terpenes.
This strain was recommended for its strong sedative effects, as well as anxiety and tension relief and anti-inflammation properties.
This live resin cannabis concentrate starts off pretty slow, with only a mild sedative effect within the first few pulls. But after a few hits, this strain dropped me into a deep relaxative state, soothing my nerves and easing pain and tension in my neck and joints.
Now, be warned, this is a couch-locker of a concentrate! So if you’re in the mood for something energizing, I’d suggest heading for a sativa AiroPro. While medicating with Close Encounter, I could barely write or work on creative projects. Instead, I just wanted to sit back, relax and veg out for the night.
While I’m not the biggest fan of vape oils and concentrates, I was surprised by how effective this strain was in treating my pain and anxiety, as well as relaxing the hell out of my body. That said, the effects tended to wear off quicker than I would have liked, which had me reaching for the pen more often than I do cannabis flower.
Final Thoughts on Close Encounter
Close Encounter delivers a soothing indica high that’ll settle the nerves and ease anxiety while teasing your tastebuds with a splash of tangy terpenes. While I wouldn’t run out and buy an AiroPro to get this strain specifically, I did really enjoy what this vape had to offer, and I would highly recommend this strain to those with an AiroPro battery.
Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests. This means that some strains profiled at 420oh.io will contain higher, exact or lower percentages of active chemical compounds when purchased at Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries during different harvest seasons.
