Ohio Medical Marijuana Strain Review:
92 Cookies by
Buckeye Relief
Should You Try These Cookies?
Review & Photos by: Randy Shaffer
Packaging: First Impressions
92 Cookies (aka Cookies and Dream or Cookies N’ Dream) is a sativa hybrid, a cross of the infamous Girl Scout Cookies, Blue Dream and Ghost OG. The flower is cultivated by Buckeye Relief out of Eastlake, Ohio. My 14.15 gram bulk container did not differ from previous containers in terms of presentation or style. I am hoping we see these types of bottles phased out at some point. Until that time, patients should place a humidity pack in the bottle to keep your medical cannabis fresh.
Cannabis Look: Out of the Bottle
The 14.15 gram bottle of 92 Cookies contained a few quarter-sized nugs, as well as an assortment of minis and popcorn nugs. This bottle was labeled “Smalls” which is Buckeye Relief’s name for these types of nugs.
Up close, this strain is quite tanned, with yellow and brown trichomes coating the pine green leaves. There are also white or glassy trichomes rounding the edges, but the yellow shade dominates the nugs. The trichome layers are very thick, sometimes globbing together like frozen leaves.
The bud itself has an almost indica-like width and calyx structure, and sports a nice weight to it. Admittedly, this isn’t the prettiest bud I’ve seen, but the trichome structures are quite beautiful.
Smell Before Vaping
The aroma of 92 Cookies leans more citrus sweet than sugary cookie, with a subtle, but delightful orange sherbet aroma, mixed with a gentle hint of pine. Sadly, while I loved the aroma, I found its potency to be somewhat lacking, with the aroma dissipating just moments after opening the bottle. The mixture does open up some once ground, but not as much as I had hoped.
The Taste Test
I vaped this medical cannabis with an Arizer ExtremeQ vaporizer. I like to start my first bag at a lower temperature to open the terpenes, and work up to a higher temp to vaporize the cannabinoids.
Once vaped, this strain dials things in a different direction, with an earthy flavor and a spicy, almost gritty pine bite. Be warned, this strain will yield some coughs, so take it slow to start.
Gone are the sweeter notes found in the aroma, replaced with a more earthy floral through-thread, and a strong burst of pine as you exhale. Honestly, the flavor felt a little off-balance. It’s not bad, but the pinene terpene is quite strong with this one.
Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted
Note: The medicinal benefits noted in this strain profile are for educational purposes only, and are not a substitute for the advice of a medical practitioner or licensed budtender.
92 Cookies by Buckeye Relief is an Tier 2 sativa-dominant hybrid strain. The bottle I purchased contained cannabis with 23.8% THC and 0.10% CBD.
This strain was recommended for its head high effects, body euphoria and energy, as well as relief with stomach issues and pain.
This strain’s terpene profile provides a wonderful entourage effect with the flower’s THC resulting in a wonderful sense of euphoria that begins in the head before trailing down the arms and body, soothing joints and muscles along the way.
This is followed by a joyous sense of energy and mental relief. As I vaped this strain, I felt my anxiety ease. Soon after, I was up and moving, writing, cleaning and cooking.
As the effects of this flower wound down, I felt tremendously relaxed throughout my body, ready for a night of fun movies and buttered popcorn.
Alas, I did get cottonmouth with this strain. Be sure to take it slow, and drink plenty of fluids with this one.
Final Thoughts on 92 Cookies
92 Cookies by Buckeye Relief is a potent sativa hybrid. It has a delicate aroma, but a powerful pine bite when vaped, which may not suit everyone’s tastes. But expect loads of energetic euphoria with this flower, enough to get your mind running and ready for the day.
Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests. This means that some strains profiled at 420oh.io will contain higher, exact or lower percentages of active chemical compounds when purchased at Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries during different harvest seasons.
