Ohio Medical Marijuana Strain Review:
Motorbreath by Klutch Cannabis
Does This Award-Winning Strain Hit or Miss?
Review & Photos by: Randy Shaffer
Packaging: First Impressions
Motorbreath is a Tier II indica flower cultivated by Klutch Cannabis out of Akron, Ohio. Klutch, for those unaware, was formerly owned by Calyx Peak, but is now locally owned and operated by Ohioans.
The bottle is not unlike other Klutch offerings, with an elegant black label featuring tiny embossed logos across the front. Such a nice touch.
Cannabis Look: Out of the Bottle
My 2.83 gram bottle of Motorbreath was filled with several popcorn minis and a few quarter-sized nugs. No large buds to be found here, sadly.
While the buds themselves are heavily coated in a frosted haze of dense, THC-rich trichomes, I couldn’t help but be disappointed in how over-trimmed, or machine-trimmed, these buds appear.
I’ve complained about this a little before in reviews, but I’ve noted a few patients in our community addressing this issue as well. While the bud is quite gorgeous up close, I can’t help but think that it would have looked so much better had it not been trimmed within an inch of itself.
Smell Before Vaping
The aroma of Motorbreath is straight gassy diesel, with equally strong garlic, mushroom and onion notes, not unlike GMO. In fact, it was so intense, my car filled with the aroma for days after I’d driven this medication back to my house. I ended up storing this one in my SmellSafe Case so it wouldn’t overpower my house with diesel fumes. Great stuff!
The Taste Test
I vaped this medical cannabis with an Arizer ExtremeQ vaporizer. I like to start my first bag at a lower temperature to open the terpenes, and work up to a higher temp to vaporize the cannabinoids.
Surprisingly, the GMO-like notes of garlic and onion slip into the background once vaped. In its place, is a flavor more akin to an earthy strain, with strong herbal notes and a flowery aftertaste. And of course, there’s the potent diesel through-thread that powers the strain’s mild bite. There is also a very subtle sweetness to this one, especially the longer you vape it. While the flavor isn’t quite as impressive as the aroma, fans of floral strains or diesel strains will not be disappointed.
Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted

Motorbreath is an indica flower from Klutch Cannabis, a cross of Chemdog and SFV OG Kush. This strain contains roughly 26.50% THC and .09% CBD. For a look at terpenes, see the pictures above. Please be aware also that THC and CBD percentages will vary between harvests.
This strain came highly recommended from our YouTube Community. Like for real, it’s been my most-requested strain by a long mile. Motorbreath is renowned for its intense euphoria and powerful sedative effects.
This one went to work right away. Before I was finished with my first vape bag, I could feel an intense rush of euphoria pouring into my temples. Though it did slow me down some, it didn’t hinder my creative juices. I found myself wanting to write, exercise and be productive.
By the end of my medicating experience, I was shockingly rested and relaxed. My muscles felt loose, and lingering pain and inflammation in my joints, back and knees felt distant for the first time in the day.
Sleep was also restful and rejuvenating. This flower didn’t hinder my ability to fall asleep, or keep my mind racing. Rather, like a switch, it seemed to just shut me right down.
Final Thoughts on Motorbreath
I can see why so many patients are recommending Motorbreath. Not only is this strain a great euphoric experience at the start, the flower finishes with waves of profound relaxation and calm. This might just be a near perfect winddown strain. Check it out!
Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests. This means that some strains profiled at 420oh.io will contain higher, exact or lower percentages of active chemical compounds when purchased at Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries during different harvest seasons.

Calyx Peak in Ohio has officially changed ownership. They are now Klutch Cannabis (aka Klutch Select). To celebrate, we take a look at Triangle Mintz (or Triangle Mints), a minty sativa flower from the cultivator.
