Can You Walk & Vape Bubblegum At The Same Time?

Packaging: First Impressions
Ancient Roots Ohio medical marijuana is grown out of Wilmington, OH — near the Beavercreek or Dayton area. Packaging here is a little excessive, though elegant. Strains come packed in two containers — an exterior box and a black plastic bottle, not unlike old film containers. Design on both the box and the bottle is stylish, almost like an old barbershop aftershave.
I also rather like that Ancient Roots leaves space on the bottle to write in your own thoughts on the strain, with a space to fill in the “effects” of the strain, and a section for how you feel. The bottle is also easy to open. With just a light squeeze, patients should be able to open this bottle without trouble.
The box and the bottle are both recyclable, too, which is great to see. Patients cannot see the cannabis they are buying with this type of bottle, but that’s the only minor gripe I have with this packing. Though the extra box is unnecessary, I really enjoyed the boutique look of it, and functionality is excellent.
Cannabis Look: Out of the Bottle
Oh boy, is this strain a beauty! To be frank, this is one of the prettiest batch of bud colas I’ve yet received from an Ohio medical marijuana dispensary.
I had formerly ranked Farkas Farms Forbidden Fruit as my absolutely favorite bud cola, but this strain gives Forbidden Fruit a run for its money (FF is more colorful).
What’s immediately noticeable is just how well trimmed this strain is compared to some others on the market. There’s no excess leaves or even thick stems — a shock considering the thickness and density of the Bubblegum strain.
Colors are just a tad faded, with a slight pine green hiding beneath a gentle sparkle of amber from the cannabis pistils. Trichomes flood the bud colas, giving the surface an almost sandy appearance.
How Does It Grind?
Bud Colas in my bottle of Bubblegum were all rather large, ranging in size and shape, from about the size of a quarter to the size of a silver dollar (or larger). These buds are dense as well, providing a giving tree amount of ground flower. One quarter-sized nug delivered 3/3.5 bowls of ground bud.
This strain also grinds pretty quickly, with little difficulty. It was perfectly dried — not too moist or too dry. About a dozen swift turns and I was ready to go.
Also worth noting: I actually had about 3.12 grams in my bottle, a little over the 2.83 gram limit. It was probably the larger bud cola (pictured in the showcase videos) that did it.
Smell Before Vaping
Bubblegum lives up to its name! This strain boasts a very sweet, but delicate scent thanks to the limonene terpene. This profile gives Bubblegum a sugary citrus aroma that’s complimented by a subtle floral undercurrent, like fresh lilies. After grinding, I noticed a mild diesel aroma emitting from the cannabis flower. The combination proved delicious, though I wish the scent were just a bit more prominent.
The scent itself is not overly powerful, so don’t expect the smell of Bubblegum to fill a room. But expect to return to the bottle several times to enjoy the sweet aroma. Like many strains out there on the Ohio medical marijuana market, including Josh D OG, I almost wish I could bottle the scent, or make candles out of them.
The Taste Test
I vaped this medical cannabis with an Arizer ExtremeQ vaporizer. I like to start my first bag at a lower temperature to open the terpenes, and work up to a higher temp to vaporize the cannabinoids.
Bubblegum didn’t quite taste as awesome as it smelled, but don’t let that deter you from trying this strain. Bubblegum features a wide field of flavors, beginning with a surprisingly peppery initial burst, followed by a juicy citrus core, and a subtle spicy aftertaste, almost like dry mustard, clove or cumin. Later bags pull back on the spicy notes, leaving more room for the subtle, sweet floral accents noted in the cannabis aroma section of this review.
I found myself a bit perplexed by the overall flavor. I wasn’t let down — I enjoyed what this strain had to offer in terms of its flavor palette. But I was also disappointed by the subtle fruit flavor, which took a backseat to the spicier terpenes found within this strain. Again, that’s not to say that Ancient Roots hasn’t concocted an enticing flavor palette for Bubblegum. Rather, this strain boasts a unique taste that’s almost akin to mixing a stick of classic bubblegum with Blackjack, Beeman’s or Clove gum.
Medicinal Benefits and Side Effects I Noted
Note: The medicinal benefits noted in this strain profile are for educational purposes only, and are not a substitute for the advice of a medical practitioner or licensed budtender.
Bubblegum by Ancient Roots is an indica strain. The bottle that I purchased contained cannabis with 22% THC and 0.01% CBD.
My medical marijuana patient consultant suggested I give Bubblegum a try, noting that feedback was positive, especially for indica lovers seeking relaxation and inflammation relief.
My budtender did not steer me wrong, either. Bubblegum provided gentle euphoria, relaxing the muscles, easing tension and reducing inflammation in my body.
This strain didn’t give me quite the relief I see from Inception, but I did enjoy what Bubblegum had to offer. It was especially great for creativity. I sat and relaxed and wrote for a few hours.
Sleep was restful and refreshing as well, perhaps more so than other strains I’ve tried, like Purple. The effects of Bubblegum lasted quite a while, which likely explains its long lasting relaxative effects.
Final Thoughts on Bubblegum
Bubblegum is an elegant strain that delivers in spades for indica lovers. It boasts a wonderful fruity aroma, complex spicy flavor, and the nugs are gorgeous, both large and dense. If you’re in the market for a solid, relaxing indica, Bubblegum should hit the spot.

Please be aware: Percentages of THC, CBD and terpene profiles can vary greatly between cannabis harvests. This means that some strains profiled at 420oh.io will contain higher, exact or lower percentages of active chemical compounds when purchased at Ohio medical marijuana dispensaries during different harvest seasons.
Method of cultivation is greener, using far less water and energy than traditional grows. The facility even utilizes a proprietary LED light setup that uses less energy and speeds up his harvest time.
A real stunner up close, with a rich array of colors, from bright amber hues to inky pine greens. Each cola lives up to its name, accented by an explosion of deep, rich purples.
